How to Use the Script Editor
Write, format, import, assign, comment on, and manage video scripts in Bluprint's WYSIWYG editor.
The Script editor is a WYSIWYG writing space for turning an outline into a production-ready video document.
Use it like a focused writing doc: write the script, format sections, add links or images, leave comments, assign teammates, and keep snapshots as the document changes.

The Writing Area
The center of the page is the Script itself. Click into the document and write normally.
Good Scripts usually use simple structure:
- A clear title.
- Headings for major beats.
- Paragraphs for narration.
- Bullet lists for shots, examples, or talking points.
- Comments for review notes instead of rewriting someone else's section.
The Formatting Toolbar
The toolbar above the document includes the common controls you expect in a writing editor:
- Undo and redo.
- Text style, font size, and headings.
- Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript, and subscript.
- Blockquotes, code blocks, and horizontal rules.
- Links and images.
- Bulleted and numbered lists.
- Text alignment.
- The comments visibility toggle.
- Fullscreen writing mode.

Import and Export
Open File to import existing writing into the Script. Bluprint supports local imports like HTML, Markdown, text, and Word documents, plus connected sources like Google Drive and Dropbox.

You can also export the Script when you need a copy outside Bluprint.
Assign Teammates
Open Assignees to assign team members to the Script. This is useful when a writer, editor, producer, or reviewer owns the next step.

Comments and Snapshots
Use comments for team review and snapshots for version history.
- Comments are best for questions, edit requests, and feedback on specific text.
- Snapshots are best for restoring the Script if a draft moves in the wrong direction.
