Leaving Inline Comments

Use Script comments to review writing with your team, much like comments in Google Docs.

Inline comments let your team review a Script without rewriting the document directly.

They work similarly to Google Docs comments: a comment is attached to a specific piece of text, appears in a side rail, and can be resolved when the discussion is finished.

The Script editor with inline comment highlights and comment cards in the side rail.

Add a Comment

  1. Select the text
Highlight the sentence, paragraph, or phrase you want to discuss.
  2. Create the comment

Use the comment action from the editor controls, or right-click in the Script to open the comment composer.

  3. Write the note
Ask a question, request a change, tag a teammate, or explain what needs review.
  4. Resolve it later
Once the edit is handled, resolve the comment so the Script stays clean.

Show or Hide Comments

Use the comments button in the formatting toolbar to show or hide the comment rail. Hiding comments is useful when you want a cleaner writing view; showing them is better for review.

When Comments Are Useful

Use comments for:

  • Hook feedback.
  • Fact-checking requests.
  • Sponsor language review.
  • Notes for B-roll, examples, or citations.
  • Team review before filming.
