Find an Idea with Find in view
Jump straight to an Idea by title without touching your filters, sort, grouping, or layout.
Find in view is the catalog's version of ⌘+F. Type part of an Idea's title, and Bluprint scrolls to that Idea and highlights the matching text — without changing a single thing about the view you set up.
Use it when you know the Idea exists and just want to get to it. Everything else — the filters, the sort stack, the grouping, the layout — stays exactly as you left it.
Find an Idea
- Open Find in view
Press ⌘+F, or select the icon in the Idea Catalog toolbar.
- Type part of the title
Matching starts on its own a moment after you stop typing. Partial words are fine, and case does not matter.
- Step through the matches
Press ↵ for the next match and ⇧+↵ for the previous one, or use the up and down arrow buttons beside the box. The counter reads 2 of 7 so you know where you are.
- Clear or close
Select the button to clear the search term, or press Esc to close the box.
What it searches
Find in view matches Idea titles only, and only within the view you are currently looking at.
That second part matters more than it sounds. Find in view respects your active filters, sort, and grouping — so it searches the same set of Ideas the catalog is showing you, in the same order. If an Idea is filtered out of the view, Find in view will not surface it.

Common mistakes
Searching for something your filters exclude
Find in view only looks inside the current view. If you get No matches for an Idea you are sure exists, clear your filters — or use the workspace search window, which ignores them.
Expecting it to match more than the title
Only titles are matched. To find Ideas by description, sponsor, or any other field, build a filter instead — see Use the Idea Catalog filter builder.
Looking for it on a narrow window
The Find in view button lives in the toolbar on wide screens. On a smaller window it is not shown.
Getting Hidden column in kanban
The Idea matched, but its kanban column is hidden. Re-enable that column from the kanban column manager and search again.
