Import assets
Bring files in from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, a web link, or a ZIP archive — and keep long uploads under control.
Everything in the Asset Library gets there through the Import menu — or by dropping files onto the page.

Ways to import
- From your computer
Import → Your computer, or just drag files from your desktop onto the library. A Drop to import overlay appears while you drag, and files land in the folder you are currently viewing. Drop onto a folder card or a folder in the sidebar to put them straight in there instead.
- From Google Drive
Import → Google Drive opens the Drive picker. Connect your Google account the first time. Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides are converted on the way in — to DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX — so what lands in the library is a real file.
- From DropboxImport → Dropbox opens the Dropbox chooser and pulls the file straight across.
- From your clipboard
Paste with Cmd/Ctrl + V anywhere in the library and whatever is on your clipboard is uploaded to the current folder. Screenshots are the common case — grab one and paste it straight in.
- As a web link
Import → Add a web link saves a URL as a Link asset. Useful for a Figma board, a shared drive folder, or a reference page you keep going back to. Links take no storage.
- As an AI mockup
Import → Create mockup hands off to the Bluprint agent to generate a thumbnail mockup, which is saved back into the library as a Mockup asset.
ZIP archives are unpacked, not stored
Drop a .zip on the library and Bluprint offers to extract it rather than keep the archive as a document.
The extraction dialog lets you choose whether to create a new folder named after the archive, or to unpack everything straight into the folder you are in. Folder structure inside the archive is preserved either way.
Limits: archives up to 256 MB, holding up to 2,000 files. Empty files and .DS_Store entries are skipped.
Watching an upload
Large files upload in the background — you can keep working, navigate to another folder, and come back. The File Uploads tray tracks everything in the bottom-right corner.
Each row shows the file name, its size, a progress bar, and a live status:
The buttons on each row pause, resume, retry, cancel, or dismiss that upload. Collapse the whole tray by clicking its header, or clear finished rows with Dismiss completed.
Resuming after a reload
If you close the tab or reload mid-upload, the transfer reappears asking you to select this file again to resume. Choose the same file from your computer and it continues from where it stopped — Bluprint checks the name, size, and modified date to be sure it is genuinely the same file.
Limits
Bluprint checks your remaining storage before an upload starts. If the batch would not fit, the storage manager opens instead of a failed upload — see Team Storage and Upgrades.
Common mistakes
Uploading into the wrong folder
Files land in the folder you are viewing when you start the import. If they end up in the wrong place, select them and drag them across — nothing needs re-uploading.
Closing the tab and assuming the upload finished
Check the tray. Anything not marked Upload verified is still in flight, and will ask for the file again after a reload.
Expecting a ZIP to be stored as a file
It will not be. ZIPs are always unpacked into the library. If you need to keep an archive intact, rename it to a different extension before uploading.
Importing a 2 GB video from Google Drive
Cloud imports stop at 512 MB. Download the file to your computer first, then upload it from there — the 250 GB per-file limit applies to direct uploads.
Next step
Put your imports to work across the rest of the app: Use assets across your workspace.
