asset library

Asset Library overview

One home for every file your team has — footage, images, audio, documents, and links — shared across a Bluprint or your whole team.

The Asset Library is where your team's files live. Raw footage, b-roll, headshots, logos, brand graphics, music beds, sponsor briefs, and reference links stay reusable across your whole Bluprint.

Open it from Assets in the Bluprint sidebar.

Why it exists

Before an asset library, a creator team's files are scattered: some in Drive, some in Dropbox, some in a Discord thread, some on whoever's laptop shot the footage. Finding the logo file becomes a message to a teammate.

The Asset Library replaces that with one browser:

  • Upload once and reuse the file anywhere in Bluprint.
  • Attach files to Ideas through Image and File custom fields.
  • Pull references and source images into Thumbnail Projects.
  • Give everyone on the team the same folder structure and the same names.

Bluprint scope vs. team scope

The two buttons at the far left of the toolbar decide how much you are looking at.

This BluprintOnly assets and folders belonging to the Bluprint you are in. The default, and the right view for day-to-day work.
All team assetsEvery asset your team owns, across every Bluprint. Cards pick up a small Bluprint name so you can tell them apart.

Every asset belongs to exactly one Bluprint. Switching to All team assets is a wider window onto the same files — it does not move anything.

Find an asset

The toolbar has three ways to narrow the grid, and they combine.

The Asset Library toolbar with search, the asset type filter, sort, and grid density controls.

Search matches asset names and file types, so "logo" and "png" both work. While a search is active the grid shows results from across the whole current scope, not just the folder you are standing in — folders are set aside until you clear it.

Filter by type

Every asset is one of seven types:

TypeWhat lands here
ImagesPhotos, screenshots, logos, and graphics
MockupsAI-generated thumbnail mockups
VideoFootage and clips
AudioMusic, voiceover, sound effects
DocumentsPDFs, briefs, spreadsheets, and slides
LinksWeb links saved as assets
OtherAnything that does not fit

Bluprint picks the type from the file itself when you upload, so you rarely have to think about it. All supported image formats land under Images. Pick as many types as you like, and use All types to clear the filter again.

Sort

Sort by Updated (the default), Name, or Size. The Ascending checkbox at the bottom of the same menu flips the direction — newest or oldest, A→Z or Z→A, largest or smallest — and the menu stays open so you can see the result label change. Sorting by Size, largest first, is the quickest way to find what is eating your storage.

What a card tells you

Each asset card shows a live preview, its name, its file type, and its size. In All team assets it also shows which Bluprint it belongs to. Folder cards show a preview of what is inside plus an item count.

Hover a card for the expand button, or double-click it, to open the full preview. A badge means the asset is attached somewhere else — hover it to see where, and the preview panel's Used in row breaks it down.

Preview an asset

The preview dialog is the detail view: a large render on the left, everything Bluprint knows about the file on the right.

  • Images render full size; PDFs render inline.
  • and step through the other assets in view, with a counter showing your position.
  • The three buttons at the top of the panel open the file in a new tab, download it, or copy a link to it.
  • The metadata list covers name, kind, type, dimensions, duration, size, and the dates it was added and updated. Video assets add aspect ratio, orientation, bit rate, codec hints, whether there is an audio track, and browser playback compatibility.

Select assets

Selection works the way a file browser's does:

  • Click a card to select it; click it again to deselect.
  • -click (or Ctrl-click) to add and remove individual cards.
  • -click to select a run of cards.
  • +A selects everything currently loaded.

With anything selected, a bar appears above the grid with the count and the actions that apply: Move to, Download, Delete, Select all, and Clear selection.

Right-click a card for the same actions plus Preview, Open, Copy link, and Rename.

Start a Video Review from an asset

Open the preview for a video asset. The Video review panel tells you whether the file already belongs to a review.

  • If it is new, select Start reviewing to create a Video Review from that asset.
  • If it is already a version, open the linked review directly from the panel.

Starting from the asset keeps the source file in the library and uses it as version 1. You can later add more video assets to the review's version stack. Your first review with up to three versions is included; creating more requires the Video Reviews add-on.

Compare two assets

Select two ready images, mockups, or videos and choose Compare. The comparison viewer opens them side by side with independent focus and optional linked navigation.

The viewer includes linked or independent pan and zoom, an overlay slider for matching dimensions, a pixel-difference view for matching images, synchronized video playback, fullscreen, and keyboard controls.

When two selected videos are versions of the same Video Review, Bluprint also offers Compare Versions. That opens the review-aware comparison workspace instead of treating them as unrelated files.

Who can do what

Asset actions are governed by team permissions:

  • assets:create_update — import, rename, and move assets.
  • assets:delete — delete assets.
  • assetFolders:create_update — create, rename, and move folders.
  • assetFolders:delete — delete folders.

Anyone who can see the Bluprint can browse, preview, and download. If a button is locked, ask a Team owner to review your role.

Next step

Give the library a shape your team can navigate: Organize assets with folders.
