asset library

Use assets across your workspace

Reuse library assets in entity fields, Thumbnail Projects, Video Reviews, and the AI agent.

Wherever Bluprint needs a file, it opens the same asset picker: the Asset Library in a dialog with a confirm button that names the current action.

The asset picker dialog filtered to image assets with a Use asset button.

The picker uses the same folders, search, type filter, sort, and scope switch as the full library. Most pickers also let you import a missing file without leaving the workflow.

In entity Image and File fields

Image and File custom fields can hold assets on Ideas, Scripts, Calendar Events, Thumbnail Projects, and Video Reviews. Add the field to the entity that needs it, then choose a library asset on each item.

Good examples include Thumbnail source, Sponsor brief, Brand pack, Reference shot, and Contract.

An empty field shows Choose from assets. Image fields filter to images; File fields accept the broader set of supported assets.

If a file was uploaded directly into a field, Add to assets promotes it to the shared library. Clearing a field that points to a library asset asks whether to keep or delete the library copy. Keep in library is the safe choice when other work may reuse it.

On Thumbnail Projects

Thumbnail Projects no longer have a separate Assets tab. Use the shared library at the moment you need a file:

  • On Brainstorm, choose Import from Assets to add reference images as pins.
  • In Concepts and Iterate, choose an existing asset when adding a draft or design iteration.
  • In the Designer Panel, use From assets when attaching work to an assignment.

The source remains organized in the Asset Library while the project receives the iteration or pin it needs.

In Video Reviews

Every Video Review version points to a video asset. Start a review from a video preview in the library or choose a video from the picker when creating a review. Add later cuts from the same library to build the version stack.

With the AI agent

The agent's Add context menu includes assets. Pick up to eight and send them with your message so the agent can work from a brief, reference image, or comparison set.

Right-click an asset and choose Copy link, or use the copy action in its preview. A link to ?asset=… opens the preview with its library context; a link to ?folder=… opens the folder.

Common mistakes

Uploading the same logo into every item

Import it once and select it from the library. One copy costs less storage and is easier to replace.

Looking for a file in the wrong scope

The picker usually opens on This Bluprint. Switch to All team assets if another Bluprint owns the file.

Deleting a file that is still in use

Check the asset's Used in information before deletion. Restore it from the Recycle Bin within 30 days if needed.
