Installing Bluprint as an App

Bluprint can be installed on your computer, phone, or tablet. It's the same Bluprint you already use — the same account, the same data, updating on its own — but it lives in its own window with its own icon instead of competing with fourteen other browser tabs.

There is nothing to download from an app store, and nothing extra to pay for.

Why Install It

Running Bluprint as an installed app gets you a few things a tab doesn't:

• Its own window, with no address bar or tab strip eating vertical space. On a laptop, that's a meaningful amount of the Idea Catalog back.
• Its own icon in your dock, taskbar, or home screen, so switching to Bluprint is one click instead of hunting through tabs.
• Jump-straight-in shortcuts. Right-click the icon on desktop, or long-press it on mobile, to open My assignments, the Script generator, or the Agent directly.
• A proper offline screen. If your connection drops, you get a Bluprint page telling you so instead of a browser error.

Installing on Desktop

Works in Chrome, Edge, Arc, Brave, and most other Chromium browsers. Firefox on desktop does not support installing web apps.

1. Open your settings

   Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Settings.

2. Go to Account

   Account is the first page under the Account group. Scroll to the Devices section.

3. Choose Install Bluprint

   Select Install app, then confirm in the dialog your browser shows.

4. Find it where your apps live

   Bluprint reopens in its own window and lands in your dock, taskbar, or Start menu. Pin it there if you want it to stay.

The row only appears when there's something to offer, so if it isn't there, either Bluprint is already installed or your browser hasn't made the option available — see Common Mistakes below. You can also install straight from the browser: look for the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or check the browser's own menu for Install or Add to home screen.

Installing on iPhone or iPad

iOS has no automatic install button — Apple requires you to add it by hand, through Safari.

1. Open Bluprint in Safari

   Sign in as usual. Chrome and Firefox on iPhone can work too, but Safari is the reliable path.

2. Tap Share

   The Share button is the square with an arrow pointing up, in Safari's toolbar.

3. Choose Add to Home Screen

   Scroll down the share sheet, tap Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.

Installing on Android

Open Bluprint in Chrome and use Install Bluprint under Settings → Account → Devices, exactly as on desktop. Chrome may also offer its own "Add to Home screen" prompt at the bottom of the screen — either one produces the same result.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling removes the window and the icon. It never touches your account, your team, or anything in your Bluprints.

• Desktop: open Bluprint, click the menu in the app window's title bar, and choose Uninstall. You can also remove it from your operating system's usual apps list.
• iPhone or iPad: press and hold the icon on your home screen, then choose Delete.
• Android: press and hold the icon, then drag it to Uninstall.

Common Mistakes

• Looking for Bluprint in the App Store or Google Play. There isn't one, and there doesn't need to be. Installing happens from your browser.
• Trying to install in Firefox on desktop. Firefox doesn't support it. Use Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium browser.
• Expecting the option before you're signed in. Install Bluprint lives in your in-app settings, so sign in first.
• Installing on a work computer that blocks it. Some managed devices disable web app installs through browser policy. The row simply won't appear.
• Waiting for an update. There isn't one to wait for. The installed app loads the current version of Bluprint every time you open it, exactly like the website.
• Expecting phone notifications. Installing does not turn on push notifications — your notifications still live inside the app.
