How to Use Calendar Views

Save calendar layouts, filters, and display settings for repeat planning workflows.

Calendar Views work like Idea Catalog saved views: they save the way you are looking at the same underlying data.

A Calendar View can save:

  • The calendar layout, like Month, Week, Day, Year, or Agenda.
  • Calendar filters, like Event Type or Has Linked Idea.
  • Display settings, like whether overflowing events are shown.

Scope Matters

Calendar Views follow the same scope as the calendar where they are created.

A Content Calendar View does not appear on the Master Calendar. A Master Calendar View does not appear inside a Channel.

Create a Calendar View

  1. Set up the calendar

Choose a layout, apply filters, and turn display settings on or off.

  2. Open Saved Views

Hover over the Saved Views rail on the right side of the calendar.

  3. Save the current configuration

Choose Save Current View as New, then name it clearly.

Updating Views

When a saved view is active, changes to filters or display settings can update that view. Use the lock button when you want to experiment without changing the saved version.

Common Mistakes

Looking for a Channel view on the Master Calendar

Saved Calendar Views are scoped. If you saved it on a Content Calendar, open that Channel to use it.

Saving too many tiny variations

Save views for repeat workflows. For one-off filtering, use URL state or temporary filters instead.
