Importing Events

Bring events from Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar into Bluprint and map them into your production calendar.

Importing events helps you move existing calendar work into Bluprint without retyping everything.

Use it when your team already has meetings, reminders, filming blocks, release dates, or planning sessions in Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar.

Start the Import

Calendar imports live with every other import, on the Import page of your workspace settings. Open it from the calendar's menu — Import events — or from the settings window directly.

The Calendar events section of the workspace Import settings, with Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar rows.
  1. Choose a destination

Pick the Bluprint the events should land in. Leave the Channel unset to put them on that Bluprint's Master Calendar, or pick one to scope them to that Channel's Content Calendar.

  2. Pick a source

Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar. The account must be connected with calendar read access first — Bluprint will prompt you if it isn't.

  3. Choose what comes across

Pick a source calendar and a date range, fetch the matching events, then select the ones you want and set their event types before importing.

Map Event Types

Imported events need Bluprint event types so the calendar stays scannable. Most generic meetings can be Reminder or Planning. Production items should use more specific types like Filming, Editing, Release, or a custom event type.

After Importing

After the import finishes:

  • Review the imported events on the calendar.
  • Link production events to Ideas where useful.
  • Adjust titles, dates, Channel, reminders, and event types.
  • Delete any imported events that were only noise.

Common Mistakes

Importing an entire personal calendar

Start with a short date range and a relevant source calendar. Import only events that belong in production planning.

Skipping event type cleanup

Event type cleanup is what makes imported events useful in Bluprint. Map meetings, filming blocks, releases, and reviews into distinct types.
