Video Quality & Playback
Understand adaptive playback, original-quality playback, quality selection, and review player controls.
Bluprint keeps the original video intact and can also prepare an optimized adaptive stream. The two playback paths favor different things: adaptive playback starts and seeks quickly, while Original shows the uploaded source at its full resolution and bitrate.
Choose a quality
Open the viewer settings from the transport bar to find Quality. Available choices depend on the source and the renditions that have finished processing.
- Auto uses adaptive playback and changes quality as network conditions change.
- A numbered resolution, such as 1080p, locks playback to that adaptive tier.
- Original plays the source file directly at full resolution.
With the Video Reviews Add-on, Bluprint prepares adaptive playback up to 1080p or the source resolution, whichever is lower. While that stream is being prepared, the player can bridge with the original file and labels it SRC.
Original playback may start, buffer, and seek more slowly because the browser is reading the full source instead of a streaming ladder. It is the right choice for a final pixel-level check; Auto is usually better for everyday review.
Playback controls
The transport bar includes play or pause, looping, playback speed, volume, timecode input, frame stepping, zoom, and fullscreen. The seek bar shows buffered progress and comment markers. Hover it to preview a moment, or drag to scrub.
For eligible 4K sources, the original remains playable without credits. Creating a faster adaptive 4K stream is optional and uses Team 4K Stream Credits.
