Roles and Permissions

Use Role Templates, capabilities, advanced permissions, and member role assignments to control access.

Roles control what team members can do. A role contains permissions, and a team member can be assigned one or more roles.

Capabilities

Capabilities are product-level permission groups. Instead of choosing every raw permission one by one, you can enable capabilities like Edit scripts, Manage calendar, Manage roles and assignments, or Manage thumbnails.

Each capability lists the exact permissions it grants, so you can still see what access the role receives.

Advanced Permissions

At the bottom of the edit role window, open Advanced raw permissions when a role needs a narrow exception.

Use advanced permissions when a person needs one specific action without the rest of a capability. For example, you may allow someone to resolve Script comments without giving them broader admin access.

Assign Roles to Members

On the Team overview page, each member row shows assigned roles. Owners can assign or change roles from the member's role controls.
