The Manage Fields Window
Configure built-in fields, custom fields, and related settings for every supported Channel entity.
Manage Fields is the Channel-level control center for the information attached to your work. Its new entity-first layout keeps Idea settings separate from Script, Calendar Event, Thumbnail Project, and Video Review settings.
Open Manage Fields
Right-click the active Channel tab and choose Manage Fields, or use a Manage Fields action beside an entity's fields. The same window opens at the relevant entity when launched from a field surface.
What each entity can manage
Select an entity to see only the sections that apply to it.
Base fields
Base fields are Bluprint's built-in structure. Drag to reorder them and use the checkbox to hide an optional field. Required or always-shown fields carry a lock and cannot be hidden; some also have fixed positions.
The resulting configuration applies to every item of that entity type in the Channel. For example, hiding Assignees under Scripts removes it from Script field surfaces without deleting anyone's saved assignment.
Custom fields
Custom fields add Channel-specific structure. The list supports:
- Creating and searching fields.
- Dragging fields into display order.
- Editing the name, description, type options, and default.
- Duplicating a definition.
- Moving a field to another Channel.
- Deleting with a saved-value impact check and undo support.
Each field belongs to the entity selected at creation. A Video Review field appears under Meta & Fields, while a Thumbnail Project field appears in its Fields panel.
Idea categories and templates
The Ideas entity also owns:
- Idea categories, the reusable labels available to Ideas in the Channel.
- Idea templates, reusable starting points for new Ideas.
These live beside Idea field configuration because they shape the same Channel workflow, but they are not fields themselves.
Calendar Event types
The Calendar Events entity includes Event types. Use it to set colors and icons for built-in types or create Channel-specific types such as Sponsor Review, Voiceover, or Thumbnail Review.
Event types are different from custom fields: the type controls how an event is classified and displayed, while custom fields store extra information on each event.
Permissions and safe changes
Channel management permission controls base-field visibility and order. Custom-field permissions control creating, editing, moving, and deleting definitions.
